1. Information We Collect
When you use AucWell's EV vehicle hire services in Nepal, we collect the following categories of information:
Personal Identification: Full name, date of birth, nationality, citizenship number or passport number, and photograph as required for vehicle hire under Nepal law.
Contact Information: Mobile number, email address, and residential or business address within Nepal or abroad.
Driver's Licence Details: Licence number, category, issuing authority, and validity β including international driving permits where applicable.
Payment Information: Bank transfer details, eSewa / Khalti / IME Pay transaction references, or card details processed through our PCI-DSS-compliant gateway. We do not store full card numbers.
Vehicle Usage Data: GPS location, trip distance, charging stops, battery consumption, and real-time telematics collected from our EV Vehicle to ensure safety and Vehicle management.
Communications: Records of messages, emails, or calls with our support team for quality assurance and dispute resolution.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
Process vehicle hire bookings, reservations, and extensions
Verify identity and driving eligibility as required by the Department of Transport Management (DoTM), Nepal
Manage our EV Vehicle, including remote diagnostics, charging schedules, and maintenance alerts
Process payments and issue tax invoices in compliance with the Inland Revenue Department of Nepal
Send booking confirmations, trip summaries, and promotional offers (opt-out available at any time)
Investigate accidents, traffic violations, or insurance claims involving our vehicles
Improve our platform, pricing models, and service quality through anonymised analytics
Comply with orders from law enforcement, the Nepal Police, or judicial authorities
3. EV Vehicle Telematics & Location Data
All AucWell electric vehicles are equipped with real-time telematics systems. During your hire period, the following data is continuously recorded:
GPS coordinates, route history, and geofence alerts
Battery state-of-charge, range estimation, and charging events
Speed, acceleration, and braking patterns for safety scoring
Cabin temperature and door/window status for vehicle security
Location tracking is active only during the active hire period. Data is retained for 90 days post-hire for insurance and dispute purposes, then permanently deleted unless required by a legal hold.
π Nepal Context: Route data through restricted zones (border areas, military zones) is handled in strict compliance with Nepal's National Security directives and shared with authorities only under lawful orders.
4. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in the following circumstances:
Insurance Partners: Sagarmatha Insurance, Himalayan General Insurance, or other approved insurers for policy issuance and claims processing.
Payment Processors: eSewa, Khalti, IME Pay, and international card networks for transaction settlement.
Government & Regulatory Bodies: Department of Transport Management (DoTM), Nepal Police, Traffic Police, and the Inland Revenue Department as legally required.
Vehicle Maintenance Partners: Authorised EV service centres in Nepal for scheduled servicing and warranty claims.
Technology Providers: Cloud hosting, telematics platforms, and analytics tools operating under strict data processing agreements.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for the following periods:

9. Governing Law & Nepal Compliance
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Nepal, including but not limited to:
Individual Privacy Act, 2075 (2018) β Nepal's primary data protection legislation
Electronic Transactions Act, 2063 (2006) β governing digital records and e-commerce
Vehicle and Transport Management Act, 2049 (1992) and its amendments

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kathmandu, Nepal.
10. Children's Privacy
Our services are available only to individuals aged 18 years or older holding a valid driving licence. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted data to us, contact us immediately at privacy@aucwell.com.np and we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, Vehicle operations, or legal requirements. Material changes will be notified via email and a prominent notice on our website at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of our services after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
